Do you want to make a change, but don't know where to start?
Dieting can be frustrating; however, changing your diet can positively change your life.
I believe in food first - using and enjoying food to help heal and improve the body.
We work together toward your goals. No one knows your body better than you do. Together, we can interpret what your body is asking of you. I will meet you where you are: you may have clearly defined goals, but need help knowing what to do first, or making a plan...or, you may have a general feeling that something has to change, but you're just not quite sure what that something is yet.
I'm a native San Franciscan, but studied business, Spanish, and theatre at the University of California, Riverside. After graduation, I worked in the corporate world for 15 years. Most recently, I worked for a large utility company. During my time in a cubicle, I completed a basic nutrition course at City College of San Francisco. That education planted a seed that eventually sprouted into the firm knowledge that if I could do anything in the world, it would be to help people learn how diet and lifestyle changes can improve their lives in amazing ways.
Thanks to the support of wonderful family and friends, I sought out an education that would help me achieve my goal. Bauman College provided everything I needed: in-class learning, comprehensive education, and most importantly, practical application - both one-on-one client consultation work and teaching experience.
I have witnessed how diet and lifestyle changes have improved my life, and the lives of my clients. I hope to help you make positive changes in your life, too.
The National Association of Nutrition Professionals was originally founded in 1985 as the Society of Certified Nutritionists, and is the only professional business league wholly dedicated to furthering the cause, education, and standards of the holistic nutrition industry. The NANP's mission is to unify the profession, educate and serve our members and protect the holistic nutrition professional’s right to practice. The NANPs accomplishes this by building integrity and credibility through a national certification process based on high educational standards and a rigorous code of ethics.
I earned my Nutrition Consultant Certification at Bauman College in Berkeley, CA. The intensive 700-hour Program at Bauman College included foundational courses, therapeutic courses, and a teaching internship -- all of which required client consultation work.
My client work was with people afflicted with varying health concerns, including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and cardiovascular valve disease. During my internship, I taught a 4-week holistic nutrition class, and worked with two of my students during private, one-on-one consultations; each with different challenges and goals.
